When it comes to matters of the Spirit Spring is the time for preparing the soil and planting the seed. We will sow this seed this Spring and expect a harvest sometime after.
The seed in this case is The Word, the soil, well that is you and I. We are the soil that the seed is planted in. We are also the tiller of the soil and tender to the seed. This may seem illogical because it is. The short of it is we are both Spirit and Flesh. The Spiritman is our soil, the tender is our Physicalman.
New seed, replenished soil gives us a new opportunity to harvest. Our harvest is subject to many factors but the one within our control is the work. How we tend to both the seed and soil is the contribution we make to the harvest.
The soil and the seed have no say in where they go and how they're tended to but they both contribute heavily to the end result, that is to be consumed by us. This knowledge is evidence of our interdependency, our connectedness.
Reflection Questions: How is your soil (Spirit)? What seed are you planting? What type of work are you doing? How & why are you doing this work?
But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. For every man shall bear his own burden
– Galatians 6:4 & 5
